Hello

posting today about a service we can offer to Ready Nas users in Australia

We would like to begin with a statement to say that we hope that you will not need to use this service.

Lets say one of your hard drive fails in your Ready Nas , no problems , out with the faulty drive and in with the new one , problem solved

Lets say now that we have a faulty Ready Nas unit, a clever function of the Ready Nas writes the O/S on to each hard drive which enables the user to take the drive array and install them in a good working Ready Nas unit (running the same or later firmware)

The third problem that may arise is we get a corrupt root error where the reset procedure will not reset the fault, even if you take the drives out of the first unit and install into a second unit the problem will follow you, that’s when you will need the help of our data recovery service where we can mount your drives into our systems here and start to recover your data.

Whats the cost?

We charge $45.00 inc GST for a review of your system

No Data no further charges

We will advise on a cost per Gigabyte if we can recover the data

Cheers

Hello

As promised we can give you a brief history of the Infrant and now Netgear Ready Nas products in Australia.

Prime Digital started it’s association with Nas products with the Yellow machine (a 4 bay Nas device ).

This led us to learning about 2 Nas products from a company based in Fremont California. Infrant Technologies had 2 desktop products the 600 and X6 , the X6 was the first product to use Xraid , the 600 used Raid 0 1 5 .

We tested these products and started an association between the two companies.

6 months later Infrant introduced the NV , which included new features like hot swap and the choice to use Xraid or Raid 0 1 5 in the one model.

Today the product line up includes the NV+ and a 19″ rack Nas model Ready Nas 1100

more product details in our next post

Welcome to our blog.

We will be discussing topics relating to data storage, be it data that you use at the office or at home. We will also be talking more generally about computer hardware, 802.11n wireless technology and other subjects, want to ask any questions about Linux operating systems, Windows, gaming or other stuff, we have a couple of techheads here that are happy to help out if we can.

Back to storage for a moment

Do you have a reliable data back up plan at your office , we recommend that you store your data in 3 separate places , with one of those off site.

We would recommend that you also have this strategy for the growing data you are keeping for your media at home.

Photos, music, home movies and important documents amongst the list.

More to follow later on storage strategies and more about us in the next posting

Cheers
